Central Government Objected, Heavy Transport Limitation Keep Going

Jakarta, metropostnews.com - The Jakarta City Provincial Government will not be influenced with central government objection. The policy of heavy transport limitation on inner city toll road is keep going up to June 10. The trial has been completed with stakeholder`s review and study.

Several stakeholders are also supporting the policy such as City Police, Toll Road Management Board, and PT Bina Marga together with Deputy of Ministry for Economy.

"The stakeholder`s commitment must be respected. It`s our agreement. I have commitment for prosperous Jakarta people," said Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo, Friday (5/27).

There are five indicators of success during the implementation of this policy. First indicator, vehicle`s speed increased up to 34.53 km/h on toll road. Second, the number of Transjakarta bus corridor IX (Pinang Ranti-Pluit) increased to 44 thousand passengers per day.

Third indicator, vehicle pollution in Jakarta road to be reduced. Fourth, using of fuel to be reduced so that subsidies are also reduced and efficient. Last, productivity of individual labor is increasing due to congestion began to unravel. (jek)
