June 22, Boat Race in Ciliwung River

Jakarta, metropostnews.com - Various activities and races were prepared to enliven the 484th Jakarta’s anniversary on June 22, 2011. One of them is the boat race which will be held on June 24 in Ciliwung River (in front of Pasar Baru) on Jl. Dr. Sutomo, Central Jakarta.

Central Jakarta Sport and Youth Sub-department as the race organizer stated rubber boat will be used in this race of 400 meters. They targeted 16 teams as participants. Each of Central Jakarta sub-district will send 2 teams consist of male and female team.

“1 team consists of 5 people,” said Central Jakarta Development Head of Sport and Youth Department Suryono.

For those who want to participate in the race can sign up in Central Jakarta Sport and Youth Sub-department on June 1. “This event is open for public,” he expressed.

Besides boat race, there will be also walk race which targeted 4.400 participants with one group consists of 11 people. This race will go through 7 kilometers long. It will start in Central Jakarta Mayor Office on Jl. Tanah Abang I and finish in National Monument (Monas). (jek)

Park Fences Stealing Successfully Aborted

But unfortunately, sometimes they do negative things, such as stealing public facility (fasum) owned by Jakarta Capital City Government. M Aslan (52) was caught stealing park fences on Jl. Kalimalang Raya, Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta. Luckily, 10 Satpol PP officers who were on a patrol seen his action and brought him to Duren Sawit Sector Police, Wednesday (6/1). From Aslan, police seized a cleaver and an iron saw used for cutting the park fence.

Head of East Jakarta Satpol PP Sarpu stated he will increase patrol time in the afternoon as well as at night time. Besides to maintain public order, it is to guard government’s assets such as park fences which spread in over ten sub-districts.

“Based on our observation in the field, the assets prone to stealing are park fences and iron plates on pedestrian bridges (JPO) and flyovers,” he explained. (dya)

Gambir Station Sold 95 Percent Tickets Toward Public Leave

Jakarta, metropostnews.com - The long holiday which is started tomorrow, Wednesday (6/2) up to Sunday (6/5), will be used by Jakarta residents to go out of the city. This condition has made the train ticket sold up to 95 percent, especially in Gambir Station, Central Jakarta. Mostly the passengers bought ticket for destinations like East Java, Central Java, and West Java.

"The number of passengers has increased up today and it is predicted the highest number of passenger will happen tonight," said head of the KAI Operational Area I Mateta Rizalulhaq, Wednesday (6/1).

Mateta predicted the number of passenger will reach 9-10 thousand people or 5 percent higher compared to usual day by 6-7 thousand people.

According to Mateta, tickets for West Java, Central, and East Java for June 2-5 have been booked several days ago.

"Mostly the passengers bought ticket for destinations like Cirebon, Bandung, Semarang, Solo, Surabaya, Malang, and Yogyakarta," Mateta added.

In order to anticipate the passenger surge, the company prepares 1-2 additional coaches for region with highest number of passenger such as Solo, Central Java. The additional coaches will be added for Argo Lawu train for departure time 9.05 pm. (dya)

Ragunan is Ready for 50 Thousand Visitors Tomorrow

Jakarta, metropostnews.com - It`s kind of ritual for people to spend their holiday, Idul Fitri and public leave, at Ragunan Zoo. The Ragunan Zoo organizers predicted that the number of visitor will reach 50 thousand people on Thursday (6/2).

In order to anticipate the huge number of visitor, the organizer will prepare 200 personnel to serve the visitors. "Local bands will also perform at Ragunan to entertain the visitors," said Marsawitri for Ragunan section of Visitor Service, Wednesday (6/1).

According to her, Ragunan has new family of 3 tigers. In fact, since the tigers are being treated, the visitors will not be able to see them. (jek)

Public Services of Jakarta Capital City Government Remain Open on Public Leave

Jakarta, metropostnews.com - Although Central Government has announced public leave on Friday (6/3), public services of Jakarta Capital City Government will still open, especially the Regional Taskforce (SKPD). And on Monday (6/6), all Civil Servant (PNS) of the City Government work as usual.

According to Jakarta City Secretary (Sekda) Fadjar Panjaitan the public leave is based on Jakarta Governor letter No. 30/SE/2011 about National Holiday and 2011 Public Leave. Nevertheless, head units of SKPD as well as Regional Working Unit (UKPD), which give direct services to the public, are asked to manage the public leave policy.

He explained citizens must received public services, such as health services, telecommunication, electricity, water, fire brigade, transportation and security, as usual. “Tomorrow’s public leave is not applicable for teaching learning activity in schools, starting from kindergarten (TK) until high school (SMA). The teachers have received their holiday provision in accordance with Article 8 of Government Regulation No. 24/1976 about PNS Leave,” he explained.

Leaders of SKPD and UKPD are also asked to give leave permission to their staffs not more than five percent of existed staffs and report them who took annual leave to the Governor through Head of Jakarta Personnel Affairs Board (BKD). “By doing so, there is still staff standby at the office to anticipate unexpected events,” he stated.

Fadjar urges the City Government staffs to enjoy this long weekend holiday by visiting tourism sites in Jakarta. “To increase Jakarta’s income,” he expressed.

Head of Jakarta BKD Budhihastuti asserted all PNS of Jakarta Capital City Government must back to work on Monday (6/6). “If they are absent without clear reason, their Regional Performances Allowance (TKD) will be cut and given sanction based on PP No. 53/2010 about PNS Discipline,” she said. Long Weekend, PT KAI Provides 2 Additional Argo Lawu Train

Jakarta, metropostnews.com - In anticipating the increasing train passengers in long weekend until the end of this week, PT. Indonesia Train (KAI) provides two additional trains (KA) of Argo Lawu majoring Solo, Central Java. A unit of train can accommodates 300-400 passengers. So, two additional train units can accommodate 800 passengers. It will be departed from Gambir Station on Wednesday (6/1) night at 9.05 PM. It is predicted that the number of passenger will increase tonight.

“We have announced since last night regarding the additional trains. The total of passengers who have bought the ticket still normal like regular days,” stated head of the KAI Operational Area I Mateta Rizalulhaq, met in Gambir Station, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (6/1).

The additional train only available for Argo Lawu train which has many enthusiasts. The ticket price of Argo Lawu for today is Rp. 300 thousand, while tomorrow will decrease a bit, as much as Rp. 285 thousand.

Regular Argo Lawu Train will still depart at 8 PM on Wednesday (6/1). The executive class train will go along 576 km from Jakarta towards Solo for eight hours.

Besides adding two units of Argo Lawu, PT KAI will also add a number of coach to every train units toward out of Jakarta. Every train will be added by 1-2 coaches. Usually, a train unit pulls 7-8 coaches, So, it will consist of 9-10 coaches.

Meanwhile, regarding divider barrier for the passengers who often sit above Jabodetabek KRL, it aims to make the passengers wary after colored spray by officers which is useless.

According to him, the divider will be installed in Pasar Minggu Baru and Duren Tiga Station, from Bogor or Jakarta. It will be installed tonight and applied tomorrow.

The divider will be installed on electric pole flow (LAA). The fiber divider with 3-4 meters long and diameter 10 centimeters which applied in two stations due to lanes between two stations are straight track, so it is easy to observe.

The trial will be conducted for two weeks and will be re-evaluated. In trial, officers will order the passengers who sit above train to go down before entering two stations with divider barriers. PT KAI in coordinate with police officer will order several officers to standby in those locations. (dya)
